Soon after arriving on this land, we consulted with a hedgerow specialist, toured local hedgerows, talked with native plant growers, and began the slow and thoughtful process of creating native hedgerows. These “living fences” serve a multitude of functions: habitat for native birds and insects, nectar and pollen for native bees, control dust, reduce sound pollution, prevent erosion, hide unsightly views, and provide privacy.
Our native hedge and landscape includes all of the following. Pictures to come!
|Pacific Wax Myrtle||Tree Mallow||Chaparral |
|Coastal sagewort||Evergreen |
|Miner’s Lettuce||Lupine||Incomplete list|
